The narrator of book 2 spoke clearly and at a good pace. This story ended with a similar teaser to book 1, and now I can't wait to read book 3! I listened to the audiobook edition, which I received free in exchange for an honest review. I loved the concept of the grey leaf tree, whose leaves had amazing healing properties and wood far superior to other timber.

Though Levi and Mandy both care for each other, fear of rejection keep them both from telling the other how they feel. When Mandy is abducted by the same rebel family who killed Levi's mother, Levi comes to her rescue. Levi has cared for Mandy for years, but she rejected him and now sees herself as unworthy. Mandy spend her time handcrafting violins. Levi is busy building himself a house on the hill across from Mandy's family home. This book focuses on Levi and Mandy's story. The people have the technology of the late 1700's.

It is set on an inhabited island that is unknown to the modern world, hidden in a place like the Bermuda Triangle. The story is set about ten years in the future during what seems like World War 3. This is the second book in the Uncharted series - an amazing blend of historical romance and science fiction.
